Scraesdon Fort is situated on the defence training estate in the South West and is one of several forts in South East Cronwall built to protect Plymouth Sound and Plymouth docks from enemy naval attack. The fort is polygonal in design and provides a maze of rooms and underground tunnels. The fort is surrounded by thick woods.
