Hawley Lake Minley stretches over a site of 45 aces (18 Hectares). The fresh water has a maximum depth of seven feet shallowing to four feet in places surrounded mostly by woodland; there is an attractive sailing club and military garrison (owned by ATRA) at one end. The Garrison uses the lake and beach to practice setting up a bridgehead. There are five islands which are good nesting grounds to the incumbent geese and can also be use for good camera positions.
